Recruit NEWDraw a card, then discard a card; if you discarded a nonland, create a 1/1 Human Soldier. You may discard a land; you just skip the token.

Storied → Enduring Story NEWEver control 3+ artifacts / legendaries / Sagas at once → you have an "enduring story" for the rest of the game and all storied cards upgrade. Food & Treasure tokens count; every storied card is itself legendary. Consider holding one until it switches on immediately.

Amass Goblins XPut X +1/+1 counters on an Army you control (make a 0/0 Goblin Army first if needed). Every amass card here makes Goblins, so goblin synergies apply.

AdventureCast the cheap instant/sorcery half first (card exiles), cast the creature later: a natural two-for-one. Casting the creature straight away is always fine.

FerociousBonuses while you control a power-4+ creature; in this set they check at combat, so the format rewards attacking.

LandfallTriggers whenever any land enters under your control, not just your land drop. Wood Elves and Hobbit Hole style effects trigger it too.

Hone counters NEW+1/+0 counters on Equipment: permanent buffs for gear. Only on two rares; know it exists, don't chase it.

Colorless (goes in any deck)

The Arkenstone // Seek the Heart — **The Arkenstone**Team +1/+1 and an extra card every end step. The white adventure tutors a legend, castable off a Treasure or light splash.

White

**Fíli the Pathfinder**Consensus best-in-set: instant token, more per Dwarf, anthem with story online. Fine even if removed; wins fast if not.

An Unexpected Party // At the Door — **An Unexpected Party**X 2/2 Dwarves, then name Dwarf next turn → all 4/4s. Hold until X ≥ 2-3.

**The Eagles Are Coming!**Save a creature + a 4/4 flyer; kicked, every bounced creature becomes an eagle. Wins races out of nowhere.

**Settle the Wreckage**The notorious attack-obliterating sweeper, back to ruin someone's alpha strike.

**Belladonna Took**Both white archetypes make tokens to fuel her.

Blue

**Bilbo, Thief in the Night**Blue's best card: relentless value over a long game. Keep him out of combat.

Black

**Head of the Hunt**Flash ambush that exiles dying creatures and leaves 2/2 Wolves behind; brutal with removal or chump blocks.

**Inside Information**Even at X=3-4 it flips a stalemate into a win on the spot.

Red

Gandalf, Goblins' Bane // Flameshape — **Gandalf, Goblins' Bane**Turns every noncreature spell into damage, and can draw two first. Wins alone if unchecked.

**Smaug the Magnificent**A 4-mana 4-power hasty flyer is already a limited problem; treasures every turn are icing.

**The Misty Mountains Cold**A Treasure per chapter, then a 6/6 flying Dragon at four treasures: ramp plus a 3-mana finisher.

Green & multicolor

**Beorn the Fierce**6/6 trample; +2/+2 to bears, makes your creatures bears, then draws two cards.

**Gigantic Big Bear**10/7 hexproof, haste, can't be countered. Half their life total from nowhere, nearly uninteractable.

**Bejeweled Warg**Both combat-trigger modes are excellent, and the wolf buff can target itself.

**Chief Warg's Company**3-mana 5/3 trample making a Wolf every upkeep; cheap enough to run straight into removal.

**Thranduil's Company**Two counters + vigilance on every land drop; extra land drops with another Elf. No elf theme required.

Recruit / Draw-Two (Lake-town Humans)

Aggressive go-wide: recruit tokens plus "second card each turn" payoffs. Tap out proactively, and discard flashback / graveyard cards to recruit; you keep the 1/1 and the spell.

Storied Dwarves

Legendary Dwarves, equipment and Sagas race to three historics → enduring story upgrades everything. Only run efficient two-for-one equipment to pad the count. Equipment for its own sake is a trap, and don't hoard duplicate legends; trade the extras off.

Amass Goblins (Sacrifice)

Armies are currency: sacrifice and trade them for value rather than growing one giant token that dies to a single removal spell. Snowslope Hunter turns each fresh Army into cards.

Great Ugly-Looking Goblin // Clap! Snap! — **Great Ugly-Looking Goblin**

Ferocious (Wolves, Bears & Spiders)

The straightforward one: power-4 creatures switch on ferocious payoffs at combat, then snowball. Guard your 2-3 drop curve, and use pump like Troll Negotiations to turn small bodies into enablers.

Landfall Elves

Extra lands trigger landfall value all game, and land-search fixing makes this the easiest base for splashing a third color. Hold lands for late landfall, but not so many you can't cast what your draw spells find.

Thranduil, Sindarin Liege // Silvan Rally — **Thranduil, Sindarin Liege**

Beorn, Reluctant Host // Till and Tend — **Beorn, Reluctant Host**

The other five color pairs have almost no support. Stay in these five unless you know exactly what you're doing. Each archetype has a hybrid common, a hybrid uncommon and a gold uncommon: take them highly; the hybrids also slot into adjacent decks.

Velvetwing Butterflies // Gaze in Wonder — **Velvetwing Butterflies**#1 white common: 2/2 flyer; adventure taps blockers for big attacks.

**Dwarven Provisioner**Threat of a team pump warps combat all game.

**Lake-town Lookout**They never want to kill it.

**Thorin's Last Stand**Team pump or Disenchant; the set is light on artifact/enchant answers.

**Moment of Glory**Go-wide payoff; flash it back off a recruit discard.

Blue

Bilbo Baggins, Burglar // Take a Glance — **Bilbo Baggins, Burglar**#1 blue: 2/1 draws a card; 1-mana scry 2 adventure. ~Three cards in one.

**Uneasy Partings**★ Library-top removal, 3 mana vs attackers (tokens: full price).

**Enchanted River's Grasp**★ Blue's other great common answer.

**Plunder the Trollshaws**Smooths draws, flashback later; discard it to recruit freely.

Black

**Bilbo's Deadly Slice**★ Murder at common. Multiples = a heavy pull into black.

**Stir Up Trouble**★ One mana + a spare token: kill anything.

**Rage into the Valley**Even Army-less: 2/2 + a dig for 3 mana.

**Long Lake Nuisance**Evasive 3/1 that recruits on entry.

Red

**Pinecone Strike**★ #1 red: 3 dmg + exile at instant speed for 2.

**Gundabad Opportunist**4/2 + impulse draw. Don't trade it down vs 2/2s.

Smaug, the Great Calamity // Spew Flame — **Smaug, the Great Calamity**Common Smaug: top-end to cross the finish line.

Green

**Quarrel**★ Green's interaction. A must-take.

**Attercop**Deathtouch + reach trades with anything, still attacks.

**Guardian of the Halls**A 2-drop that's still a great draw on turn 12.

**Reverent Howl**Trick + card-draw mode; can dome them for 2 at the death.

Fixing & splash enablers

**Giant's Boulder**Fix early, Vindicate late. A godsend for splash decks.

**Hobbit Hole**Great fixing; halfling cycling finds a Bilbo or Gollum late.

**Thrór's Map**Fetch a basic now, loot for spells later.

**Troop of Ponies**Two basics, but it's summoning-sick, kill-able fixing.

A tapped dual land replaces the basic in ~50% of packs: great in any two-color deck and for splashes; late, sac it for counters.

**Old Fat Spider**6/7 plays offense or defense and refunds a card when it dies.

Lake-town Mariners // Gone Fishing — **Lake-town Mariners**Re-trigger ETBs, dodge removal, or landfall; and a 6/5 ward 2.

Bilbo, Luckwearer // Burglar's Plot — **Bilbo, Luckwearer**Unblockable looter that amplifies the whole deck.

**Bothersome Noisemaker**In spell-dense decks: endless fodder or a must-answer threat.

**Patient Instructor**Hybrid that's solid with zero synergy; fits WU and both neighbors.

**Gollum the Abandoned**2 damage on entry and it keeps coming back; sac an artifact or creature.

**Azog, Moria's Ruin**Premier sacrifice payoff for the BR deck.

Tricks: Vow to Erebor, Thorin's Last Stand (team-wide!)
Bofur's Concerted Care: 1 mana for hexproof + indestructible
Stone by Sunlight: kills your power-4+, or saves theirs
Magnificent End is 3 cheaper on your tapped attackers

Blue

No common combat trick, but counterspells:
Confusticate and Bebother: can't dodge it; play through
Sound the Trumpets: punishes spells with MV ≤ 2
Thranduil's Decree (6 mana): bait it with a non-permanent spell; if their hand is empty just play on

Black

Reverent Howl: a trick whose draw mode can dome you for 2
Bilbo's Deadly Slice: instant Murder, always assume it
Stony-Voiced Goblins discard: hold an extra land to protect a key card vs BR
Down, Down to Goblin-town: deploy key threats before the Saga takes them

Red

Smaug's Fury: don't get baited into blocking by the reach mode
Pinecone Strike: 3 damage at instant speed, exiles
Gandalf, Spark Starter: 3 to the face; count your life

Green

Tricks: Warg Tactics, Quarrel (their creature fights at instant speed)
Little Bear: flash, can untap a blocker mid-combat

Any deck

The Black Arrow: flash equipment, 1 damage on entry. At exactly 1 life you're dead to any deck
Long-Bodied Grey Dog: colorless flash blocker (2 toughness)
Golden rule: tricks are for offense. Casting one into open mana on defense invites a blowout.

Sealed build, in order

Sort by color; separate commons from uncommons/rares. The uncommons are the strongest signal for which archetype your pool supports.
Start from your bombs (best cards in a vacuum) plus signpost gold uncommons, then build toward one game plan. Don't just smash your two deepest colors together.
Stay in the five supported pairs. Splash a third color via GU land-search, Giant's Boulder, duals, or Treasures.
Removal in every color: Magnificent End, Uneasy Partings, Bilbo's Deadly Slice, Pinecone Strike, Quarrel. You need answers.
Check the curve: even the big-creature BG deck must do something on turns 2-3.

Play style of the format

Be the aggressor. Ferocious checks at combat, recruit rewards tapping out, and tricks are offensive tools.
Hold storied cards until they flip on the moment they land, and count your Food/Treasure tokens toward the three.
Recruit tip: discard flashback/graveyard cards for pure value, or a land (no token) to keep your spells.
Armies are currency: in BR, trade and sacrifice them; a stream of small tokens beats one giant one.
Adventures are 2-for-1s, but casting the creature straight away is always fine.
Landfall counts every land that enters, not just your land drop.
